Rapper Coco Solid (AKA Jessica Hansell) is joined by frequent collaborator Erik Ultimate (Benjamin Buchanan) for this tongue-in-cheek ode to vigilantes. The video's unique and surreal effect is created by rotoscoping —a laborious animation technique where live action footage is traced over frame by frame. In 'Crimefighters' case, it was 2400 frames, meticulously drawn over with coloured pens and highlighters. 'Crimefighters' won Best Hip Hop Track at the 2007 bNet NZ Music Awards, while 2006 album Gentlemen Prefer Bombz made it onto the NZ Listener's Top 10 Albums of the Year list.
