A father and daughter pull up in a remote setting. A sprightly black labrador dances around the car. In this short film, action take precedence over words as Conor (played by the film's writer, Doug Brooks) struggles to pay the price for being a good Dad. Father Between was co-directed and produced by Blenheim-based Aaron Falvey, whose WWII drama The Flame was judged best local short film at the 2017 Auckland International Film Festival. Falvey co-founded the Top of the South Film Production Society as well as a local film festival of the same name to promote filmmaking in the Marlborough region.
Don't look at me like that. My daughter comes first, you're a close second...– Conor (Doug Brooks) struggles with the task at hand
