During a slightly disappointing magic show in 1950s New Zealand, a swarm of monstrous huhu grubs take over the town. Amidst the oversize insect madness, Ngaire (Victoria Abbot) and substandard magician (Jeremy Brennan) fall in love, but soon come face to face with fearful civilians. Christchurch writer and director Patrick Gillies has included something for everyone in this short film — music, dance, comedy, romance and flesh hungry monsters. Cinematographer John Chisstoffels joins Gillies for their fourth production together. The score is performed by the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra.
