In this documentary the Topp Twins take their wit on the road in a mission to share their love of the yodel, and cement its place in contemporary music. As they travel through New Zealand and Australia, they meet yodeling legends Frank Ifield, Mary Schneider, and opera singer Malvina Major, and visit their hometown to teach school kids the art of the yodel. Along the way, famous faces like Lucy Lawless and Helen Clark also have a try. When the twins visit the ultimate yodeler's paradise at the Gympie Music Muster in Queensland, they connect with fellow yodelers and reflect on where their performance careers first began.
It looks weird on paper, but it works in reality: it's two yodeling lesbians from New Zealand who grew up in the country, who've taken the world by storm. The way it works is we have a very clear sense who we are.– Jools Topp describes the Topp Twins
