In 2006, Opshop recorded their second studio album Second Hand Planet. With the help of Welsh record producer Greg Haver (Manic Street Preachers, The Feelers' Playground Battle), Opshop members Matt, Clint, Bobby and Jason spent eight weeks at Parnell's York Street Studios. This documentary follows the trials of making music under pressure, and working around the odd scuffle between band members and production team. Second Hand Planet would go on to sell multi-platinum. It won multiple categories at the NZ Music Awards, and single 'One Day' scored a coveted Silver Scroll songwriting award.
I still find it magical. You know, we'll walk into the studio on Tuesday, and there will be nothing — just a void of electrons all swimming around somewhere in the room. And then, by the time we finish, there'll be this art created out of this nothingness. If that’s not magical, I don’t know what is.– Record producer Greg Haver on creating music
