Pāia - First Episode

In the first episode of te reo adventure series Pāia, Waioira McLeod tells fellow presenter Rereahu Collier that the day’s challenge is to see who has the best moves sledging down a river. There is a painful physical challenge for the loser. Rereahu has no idea about sledging. They don the correct gear for their adventure on the stunning Kaituna River. After rolling around in the rushing river it’s clear that Rereahu is better in the water than Waioira thought. She is gutted, and not in a hurry to do her 50 leg kicks.

Kua korero kē ahau ki a Rereahu. Ko ahau kē te toki i roto i te wai. Kāore ia mō te whakaopono mai ki ahau. (I’ve already told Rereahu I’m the bomb in the water. He doesn't believe me.)
