Experimental theatre troupe Red Mole encapsulated the counterculture of the 1970s; their bold work was celebrated both at home in Aotearoa, and in the notoriously tough Big Apple. In this documentary from award-winning filmmaker Annie Goldson (Brother Number One), Red Mole's incredible story is told via extensive archival material. The documentary debuted at the 2023 NZ International Film Festival. In this backgrounder, written in 2021 for NZ On Screen, ex Red Mole member Martin Edmond explores the troupe's past — on screen, and on the road.
