Sophie's Story grew from an Auckland community initiative into an award-winning education tool warning teens about the dangers of P (methamphetamine). Sophie (Troy Garton) records her older brother's descent into P addiction via her video diary. Alex (Westside's Xavier Horan) 'borrows' money to feed his habit, which makes him violent and paranoid. The acting was so convincing the film won Best Documentary at the 2007 International Family Film Festival in the USA. However, real-life interviews with police and psychologist Nigel Latta feature, offering advice about P abuse and avenues of support.
She stayed and made the decision to smoke P based on the information of an addict. How dumb is that?– Sophie (Troy Garton) can't believe her friend's actions
