Sporting Life - Yacht Designer Olin Stephens

Television (Full Length Episode) – 1974

American Olin Stephens visited New Zealand in 1974, and spent time aboard one of the many yachts he designed: Admiral’s Cup entrant Corinthian. Reporter Bill McCarthy described it as New Zealand's "most expensive piece of sports equipment". This report sees Stephens admiring Kiwi sailing skills on the Waitematā Harbour, and evaluating some of his previous designs. Kiwi yachtsman Chris Bouzaid pays tribute. By then Stephens was a renowned name in sailing, having designed the last five America’s Cup winning boats. When he died in 2008, he was a senior member of the prestigious New York Yacht Club.

I consider it a pleasure to sail a boat but I don't sail a boat for pleasure, if you get the distinction.
