The 48Hours filmmaking competition is an institution for Kiwi filmmakers; an annual event where competitors are tasked with making a movie in just two days, with very specific components. When 48Hours was featured on The Project in 2018, the event's organisers assembled a team to create a simulation of the competition. #MoveNZ was the result — a short current affairs parody that was made in just 4.8 hours. Outlining the issues caused by New Zealand's geography, the peppy narrator suggests the solution is to literally move the countrys placing on Earth. Thus, the "movement movement" is born; #MoveNZ.
...here's your challenge — I'm going to give you one tenth of your usual time. I'm going to give you that prop. You have 4.8 hours to make something for us to show on the air tonight.– Project writer Jeremy Elwood hands the team their challenge
