Initially unsure of how to make a career in comedy or the arts, the politically minded Jo Randerson has become a writer, performer and theatre director. In this Funny As interview she discusses a variety of topics, including:
- Her dad’s methodically planned wit and her mum’s more random comedy
- Tossing up a career in the creative arts, when there was “important work that needs to happen in the world”
- Appearing on TV show A Bit After Ten, playing a character who has recently discovered she is a feminist
- Getting booed off stage in Australia
- How being Kiwi affects our comedy and makes us different from the rest of the world
- How empowering it is to see females in positions of power and success
