From the mid 1960s into the 1980s, Christopher Bourn’s name was synonymous with entertainment on New Zealand television. But the man behind talent shows Studio One and New Faces also played a role in groundbreaking sports broadcasts, including the first All Black test screened on television. Bourn held senior management roles in both the old NZ Broadcasting Corporation and TVNZ.
One of the lovely things about my career is I never had a boring day in my life. I was just so lucky in being a pioneer . . . We weren’t trained, we learned . . . we were given a chance to experiment, we were given a chance to try things out. Christopher Bourn reflecting on his career, in his ScreenTalk interview for NZ On Screen
