Probably best known for playing Alex McKenna on Shortland Street, and the mother of Hercules, Liddy Holloway wrote scripts for many of the television shows in which she appeared — including Shortland, Homeward Bound and Australian hit Prisoner. Holloway was nominated for her work in movies Fracture and Her Majesty. She passed away in the last few days of 2004, after a screen career spanning three decades.
