For many viewers Susan Wilson will always be Beryl — the straight-talking but goodhearted office worker she played across five series of Gliding On, and its short-lived sequel Market Forces. Her work in television also includes Close To Home, Mortimer's Patch, and a starring role as Aunt Daisy in an episode of Pioneer Women. Wilson won the Feltex Award for Best Actress in 1982. Earlier (in 1976) she was one of the founders of Wellington's Circa Theatre, where she continues a long career as a stage actor and director. In 2001 Wilson was named an Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit, for services to theatre.
...she has a backbone of steel, a resilience that astounds me, and a vast knowledge. Actor Gavin Rutherford on Susan Wilson, Regional News issue 93, 27 November 2018, page 9
