Zambian-born Kiwi Tandi Wright has been nominated for acting awards for her work in both comedies (Serial Killers) and dramas (2006 movie Out of the Blue). Her television resume includes ongoing roles in Shortland Street, Being Eve, hit comedy Willy Nilly and three seasons of Nothing Trivial. In 2020 she played the Kiwi prime minister in web series Third Term (which she co-created with her husband, Michael Beran).
Acting is one of the those things that, if you say it, you have to commit to it. It's such a risky thing financially, it took me a long time till I thought I could own the mantle. Tandi Wright in an interview with The Dominion Post (TV Week liftout), 14 September 2010, page 3
