Theresa Healey's first memorable screen role was in 1989, when she found something very strange in the plughole in celebrated short film Kitchen Sink. Healey went on to spend five years as sassy nurse Carmen Roberts on Shortland Street. Her other television roles include Go Girls, Filthy Rich, rugby drama Head High and teleplay Double Booking. On the big screen, she has been in Jubilee, Savage Honeymoon and Vermilion. In 2007 Healey investigated her "bog Irish heritage" for an episode of Here to Stay. She has also competed on Dancing with the Stars, and provided the legendary "here's a house" voice-over on kids show Play School.
...I think I’m a useful actor. And I love it. I’m not a great leader. I’m a really good team player. I love being part of a cast. Theresa Healey in a Listener interview, 1 April 2000, page 12
