Abby Damen got her big break in 2009 with Emmy-nominated web series Reservoir Hill — although her big scenes arrived in the second season, when she went up against lead character Beth. Damen followed it with three seasons on the light-hearted Girl vs Boy, as "Norwegian stalker" Kjesten. The 48 Hour Film Competition veteran was named Best Actor in the 2014 contest for her role as a vengeful wife in Dick Off. Damen has also acted in TV movie Doubt: The Scott Watson Case and was nominated for an NZ Web Fest award for The Watercooler. She also works as a copywriter, and co-founded dance fitness company Shut Up and Dance.
The character I play in this is my favourite character to date. I know this is just a short film, but if I wanted to look into her, she's totally flawed; annoying, rude and thoughtless, despite being a nurse - someone whose job it is to be kind, compassionate and caring.
