All-rounder Brandon Te Moananui was a restless kid who left for Australia at age 16. He found his niche back in New Zealand when he "fell in love" with creating content, after loading some dance clips onto YouTube. The Lower Hutt-born cinematographer, editor and director says his mixed whakapapa is instrumental in helping him craft stories. The 2013 NZ Film and Television School graduate got his break directing Tomorrow People music video Take it Away (2012). Later he shot and edited comedy web series The Watercooler, shot indie feature Hang Time (2019) and came up with the idea for comedic web series The Māori Sidesteps.
