David Lomas joined TVNZ in 1988, having already established his journalistic credentials as a newspaper reporter. He was one of the reporters at the birth of the Holmes programme in 1989, the first of many current affairs shows he would work on. Lomas has also fronted several documentaries, including The Real Mr Asia. In 2009 he began hosting and directing the long-running Missing Pieces on TV3, in which he reunites family members who have lost contact, or never met. The hit series was later renamed Lost and Found; it was reborn with a slightly wider brief as David Lomas Investigates in 2020.
You don't get many jobs in the world where you can literally change people's lives and not just one person, but lots of people. David Lomas on Lost and Found, Stuff, 7 May 2018
