Judith Gibson was a founding member of Auckland company Theatre Corporate. Her long stage career has included turns as Lady Macbeth, Desdemona, Ophelia, and Blanche DuBois in A Streetcar Named Desire. She has also directed more than a dozen plays. En route there have been occasional screen roles, alongside teaching acting and dance across New Zealand. Gibson made her screen debut in female-forward movie Trial Run (1984). She played Frances, the straight-talking best friend to Annie Whittle's character. In madcap romp User Friendly she stole the screen as a villainous cosmetics tycoon, on the hunt for a magical elixir.
