Presenter, narrator, producer, director: Mark Leishman has done many things over his long broadcasting career. Leishman began in radio, then became a continuity announcer on television, before moving into TV presenting — including on high profile game show Top Town. Alongside his partner Jo Raymond and Dexter, a golden labrador, he launched long-running game show Tux Wonder Dogs — which ran for a decade — and presented the Young Farmer Contest for even longer. He has made a number of one-off documentaries, presented shows for channel Country TV, and done extended runs as a radio DJ on The Breeze and Magic.
I feel really fortunate that I’ve had a good long run. In fact, both my brother and I feel the same — that we’ve been lucky in that regard . . . I think the big secret as well is being versatile. Presenting as a career can be very short-lived, but to be able to present, and do a bit of directing, voicing and writing particularly, then you're covering a lot of bases.
