Matt Chisholm first appeared on television in 2007 for a story about his disabled brother Nick. Matt was a journalism student when he was interviewed for 20/20. Through that story, he met producer Mike Valintine. The meeting proved fruitful — in 2008 Valintine offered Chisholm a reporting job on daily current affairs show Close Up. Chisholm went on to report for TV One for 12 years, including time on Sunday, Fair Go and Seven Sharp. He made the big move to reality television when he hosted Survivor NZ from 2017. The series saw him working in Central America and Thailand. Chisholm also co-hosted Celebrity Treasure Island in 2019.
I have this feeling, probably based on my brother's scenario, that you can get through anything, if you want to. Anything's possible. Matt Chisholm on his brother Nick having locked-in syndrome, Stuff, 6 May 2017
