Richard Hansen has enjoyed a double career: one of them as a director and producer on large multi-camera events — including the World of Wearable Art show, live season finales of Survivor and The Block, and the Kiwi arm of a New Year's Eve millennium broadcast which was seen around the globe. He has also worked as a sound recordist, with credits including Shortland Street and an Emmy-nomination for Young Hercules.
The great Clive James said you can get away with average pictures on TV as long as you have good sound — but bad sound will destroy the viewers enjoyment of any show, regardless of how great the pictures are. Richard Hansen
