Rosie Howells has a passion for comedy and the absurd. She began as a playwright and comedian at Otago University. After graduating from Wellington's New Zealand Film and Television School in 2015, her first script The Pissy Tits Street Gang played at the NZ International Film Festival and saw her nominated for Best New Writer. Her writing credits include Wellington Paranormal, animated show Yap Trap, and web series Conspira-Series. Howells is also an actor. She starred in and wrote Hydrangea and The Wifi Project; both were finalists at the 48Hours short film contest. Howells has also done interviews and written extensively for NZ On Screen.
My background is in writing weird stage comedy, and when I began making films it was exciting to me how many tools there were to be funny and strange. I think the medium really lends itself to silliness. Rosie Howells
