Actor and writer Shoshana McCallum has worked across theatre, film and television. Before settling in Auckland, she studied acting at the Wellington Performing Arts Centre, then at New York theatre school the Neighbourhood Playhouse. The multi-talented McCallum created and starred in web series Stand Up Girl — about a sex worker who does stand-up comedy — and co-created lockdown drama INSiDE, which won an International Emmy in 2021. In 2024 she co-created acclaimed TV series Madam starring Rachel Griffiths, also about sex work. McCallum has written for TV shows Head High, Westside, Creamerie and My Life is Murder.
