Wellington-born Trisha Stratford enjoyed a varied career in New Zealand and Australia, working in psychology, corporate training and television. Beginning her screen career in Aotearoa in the 1980s, she reported, directed, and produced news and current affairs for 60 Minutes and TV One's primetime news — then began making documentaries, often through her production company Future Productions. Perhaps most recognisable as a relationship expert on Married At First Sight Australia, she appeared on the show for seven seasons from its inception in 2015, and guested on the Kiwi version. Stratford died on 17 September 2023.
She showed great courage joining this very unconventional social experiment in its first short series and helped transform it into the hugely successful franchise it is today. Statement from Channel 9, after Trisha Stratford's departure from Married at First Sight Australia, 2 September 2020
