Chinese-Vietnamese actor Xana Tang made her screen debut at 16 as part of big screen drama Matariki. She went on to comedy series Hounds, TV dramas Filthy Rich and The Almighty Johnsons, and black comedy Fresh Eggs. In 2017 Tang crossed the Tasman for comedy show The Letdown, and Rachel Griffiths miniseries Dead Lucky. In 2021, the Māngere-raised actor joined Niki Caro's live-action remake of Mulan, playing Mulan's sister Xiu. Then she co-starred in comedic TV movie Princess of Chaos as a fictionalised version of Bevan Chuang — who went to the press when her affair with Auckland mayor Len Brown threatened to go public.
