After working in theatre, Yoson An's first role on-screen was in short film Death Note (2012). The following year he got his first starring role —  in David Blyth horror film Ghost Bride he played a Chinese immigrant forced into marriage. In 2017 he joined Rachel Griffiths in Australian miniseries Dead Lucky, playing a rookie cop dealing with his best friend's death. An has also acted in webseries Flat3, movie Mortal Engines and Eleanor Catton historical drama The Luminaries. In 2018 he was the love interest in Niki Caro's remake of Disney hit Mulan; in 2021 he starred in New Gold Mountain, a four-part drama set in Australia's gold rush era.

I’ve been quite fortunate with my auditions.
