Created by ex Chills bassist Justin Harwood with actor Mark Mitchinson in mind, High Road is a comedy drama with a very healthy soundtrack. After suffering all the usual pitfalls of his profession, ageing rock star Terry Huffer (Mitchinson) moves to Aotearoa seeking both a simpler life, and reconnection with estranged family. Terry's life is a rollercoaster, as he juggles his caravan-operated radio station (and other surprise career moves) with a messy personal life on Piha beach. Mitchinson is supported by acting talent like Danielle Mason as unrequited love Shona, Jennifer Ward-Lealand as an old flame, plus a cameo from British Oscar-winner Emma Thompson. Iggy Pop said a song only needs 12 words and if you run out of words you just repeat stuff… you just repeat stuff… you just repeat stuff…– Terry (Mark Mitchinson), in episode three
