Auckland hip hop collective SWIDT (See What I Did There?) first got together at high school in Onehunga. After bandmate Isaiah Libeau — aka producer SmokeyGotBeatz— started making waves overseas for his music, SWIDT released 2016 album SWIDT vs Everybody. The compilation, featuring hit '312', was nominated for Best Urban/Hip-Hop Album at the 2016 New Zealand Music Awards (category winner Aaradhna argued that SWIDT should have won it). A year later the five-strong group dropped their official debut album Stoneyhunga, which got six nominations. The group won for Best Group and Best Hip Hop Artist.
