A Clinical Approach

Television (Full Length) – 2006

Christchurch experimental theatre company The Clinic feature in this nine-minute profile. Inspired by ideas "stemming from a dream, a conversation, or even a costume", The Clinic created shows during the 2000s which often mixed live actors with prerecorded video. The group performed in abandoned buildings, nightclubs and online. Clinic member Anastasia Dailianis explains the company's free-flowing ethos. Featured are scenes from The Peculiar Case of Clara Parsons, and a show being developed at Christchurch Cathedral with writer Jo Randerson. Shot in 2004, this report screened on arts show Artsville in 2006.

The clinic is committed to combining new technology and non-theatre arts with their performances and to remaining in Christchurch, where the isolation, she [producer Veronica Barton] says, "keeps us fresh".
– Writer Bernadette Rae on The Clinic, The NZ Herald, 3 August 2004
