All I Wanted

Wellington band Ammp released an extended run of singles before the arrival of their only album, 2011's From the Back of the Sun. 'All I Wanted' was the first. Director and one man band Ed Davis — who'd had previously made the impressive one shot music video You Don't Know Me — mixes live action and 3D animation to capture the mood of yearning and first love, complete with magic lantern-style lighting in a virtual nightclub. Ammp's singer and songwriter Andrew Messeur went on to release solo albums and novels. Guitarist Mathew Powell spent time in Christian collective One Forty Seven.
