In this episode of popular series Animal House, the SPCA inspectors are going to great lengths to save animals from danger. A limping peacock is found hiding in a central suburb driveway, a dog is kayaked out from an imminent drowning, and a cagey cat is rescued from an abandoned house in Manurewa. Moving moments include an owner being reunited with her beloved 18-year-old dog, and SPCA Inspector Kevin Plowright temporarily adopting a rescued yorkshire terrier, whom he later dubs Crikey. Animal House, after being aptly renamed SPCA Rescue, was named Best Observational Documentary at the 2012 NZ TV Awards.
