Border Patrol

This long-running series takes an inside look at efforts to protect New Zealand's borders by customs, immigration and Ministry of Primary Industries staff. It follows teams intercepting contraband, and suspicious characters trying to slip through security with everything from cocaine-lined suitcases to live tropical fish. The show has mixed suspenseful and oddball encounters for more than two decades. Produced by company Cream Media and later Greenstone TV, and narrated by Tim Balme, Border Patrol has sold widely overseas. Similar shows with Border in the title followed in Canada, Australia and the United Kingdom.
