Tu (played by young Kiwi hip hop dancer Tia Maipi) has six weeks to prove he deserves a spot in an international dance group. As the high octane excerpt for Born to Dance makes clear, that doesn’t leave much time to muck around. The first feature film directed by Outrageous Fortune actor Tammy Davis features music by P-Money, and choreography by Manurewa’s own world champion sensation Parris Goebel (who has choreographed for Jennifer Lopez and Justin Bieber). The result won praise for its "astonishing Kiwi choreography" (Variety). The cast includes Stan Walker and American Kherington Payne (Fame).
...an astonishing Kiwi choreography showcase, the biggest and by far more impressive of its kind to originate Down Under.– Variety reviewer Peter Debruge, 6 October 2015
