Charlie ASH debuted on the New Zealand music scene with their saucy synth-humping turbo-pop fuelled EP Can Can (2007). Forming out of a mutual love for lavish costumes and theatrical stage shows, the kooky quartet's rise has been swift, securing gigs alongside acts such as Juliette Lewis and The Licks. Charlie ASH is turning up on international radars, with one British reviewer raving: "Real retro synths merged with polarizing guitars and gut-wrenching yet sensitive vocals. These girls/guys rock."
