Debbie Harwood

Debbie Harwood joined funksters Big Sideways while promoting and managing bands, before going solo for single ‘If That’ll Make You Happy’. She was named Most Promising Female Vocalist at the 1985 NZ Music Awards. Despite further gongs (including for John Quigley collaboration 'Blue Water') Harwood is proudest of a nomination: Producer of the Year, for album Peaches - So This is Love. Harwood did seven sellout tours and hit number one with all female act When the Cat’s Away. She has performed with Jimmy Barnes and her own Band of Gold, lectured at Auckland University, and created radio show Give It a Girl, about women musicians.
