Watchable in full, Doves of War is a twist-filled thriller about a group of Kiwi ex-soldiers implicated in a war crime in Bosnia. Ex-UN peacekeeper Lucas Crichton (Australian actor Andrew Rodoreda) tracks down his old squad, desperate to uncover who has leaked information to the press. Heading south, he learns that some still pledge allegiance to him (Scott Wills, from Stickmen), one is in a Wellington prison (episode three), and another is caught up with an isolated cult (episode four). Also on the trail is a sly war crimes prosecutor from overseas (Kate Atkinson). The ambitious six-part drama was written by Greg McGee (Erebus).
Doves of War will be top of my CV and it's the one thing I've done so far for television that I'll want to keep on DVD and have the odd look at from time to time.– Writer Greg McGee
