Director Andrew Dominik captures the dreamy essence of this early 90s gem superbly, while adding a slightly sinister edge. The use of colour over black and white, superimposed imagery (and "mouth cam") makes for a liquid delight. Although Andrew Brough's song failed to hit the charts, its reputation has grown over the years. In 2001 it was voted number 32 in APRA's list of of the top 100 New Zealand songs. Brough died in February 2020. Dominik went on to direct acclaimed movies Chopper, The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford and Killing Them Softly.
