Political figures and popular broadcasters were prime targets in Gibson Group's topical sketch comedy series. In this first episode John Campbell, Kim Hill, Don Brash (then leader of the National Party) and Prime Minister Helen Clark all get the Facelift treatment, with actors impersonating their subject via voice, movement and prosthetic makeup. Facelift provided an early showcase for man of many voices, Cohen Holloway (Boy, Bellbird). Holloway depicts MP Winston Peters as a suave wheeler-dealer and delightfully skewers effusive broadcaster John Campbell.
