Fiona McDonald

Fiona McDonald was the voice of 1990s Kiwi pop, winning Best Female Vocalist at the NZ Music Awards three times that decade. The longtime pop fan learnt harmonies in her Catholic school choir, and at Auckland University sang jingles for radio station BFM. In the 1990s two bands helped make her name: she fronted dance-friendly singles for Strawpeople and joined her favourite band Headless Chickens, after guesting on 'Cruise Control'. In 1996 they topped the charts with 'George'In 1999 McDonald released solo album A Different Hunger. She went on to judge TV's New Zealand Idol, and present reality series 10 Years Younger.
