Flatmates - Full Series
Television (Full Length Episode) – 1997
This early reality show observes six 20-somethings as they share a house for three months: four students (including a beauty contestant), a confident gay financial consultant, and a cameraman (who also happens to be one of the show's directors). The five episodes chronicle romantic revelations, tumultous 21st parties, and moments of joy and conflict. Check out this episode guide. Charismatic flattie Vanessa Adcock soon won a role helping present youth show The Drum. The TV4 show was an early entry in a run of 1990s reality shows observing 'home life'. It predated hit show Big Brother and offered a Kiwi twist on pioneering show The Real World (which debuted in 1992).
