A fridge makes an unlikely companion for a Korean émigré in this offbeat Stephen Kang film. Mark (Andrew Han) finds solace and belonging through hiding inside a fridge. After his working visa expires, the fridge joins Mark and friend Jenny (Hanna Lee) for a trip out of Auckland. This excerpt shows their plans going awry when Jenny's boyfriend demands his car back. Fridge (aka Dream Preserved) is the debut feature of Stephen Kang, a South Korean who moved to Aotearoa as a teen. It was named Best Digital Feature at the 2006 NZ Film Awards. In 2011, Kang's short film Blue won an award at the Cannes Film Festival.
