Ghostfish - Catfished by a Ghost

Ghostfish - Catfished by a Ghost was the national runner-up in the 2016 48Hours filmmaking competition, in which teams are tasked with creating a film in two days — with very specific requirements. What starts as a sweet and comedic love story between a human and a ghost, takes an unexpected turn into darker territory. The film boasts slick special effects and a strong acting ensemble of advertising copywriter Nick Dellabarca, Laura Daniel (Seven Sharp) and Nic Sampson (The Brokenwood Mysteries). There are also brief cameos early on by stand-up comedians Guy Montgomery and Eli Matthewson.  

This clever, well-paced short film stands the test of time. The team pull off some great performances, tidy storytelling and some great gags with a sinister twist. Prime Rib nail the horror genre that this well-oiled and iconic team was assigned.
