Gloss ran for three seasons and 55 episodes. It followed the Redfern family and their fashion magazine business. High living yuppies, shoulder pads and backstabbing abound in this late 1980s 'glamour soap'. Gloss brought a sophistication and satirical edge to New Zealand television. Janice Finn and Rosemary McLeod's show won an especially strong following among women, and viewers under 20. It debuted on TV2 in August 1987 in an 8.30pm slot, before moving to 7.30pm in season two. Gloss was one of the last shows made by TVNZ before the closure of its drama department. Read more about the show here.
