Te Matatini, the prestigious biennial national kapa haka competition is the pinnacle event for kapa haka groups around Aotearoa. Haka Life steps behind the scenes of Te Matatini, following Tāmaki Makaurau pan-tribal Ngā Tūmanako, as they prepare to compete. Hours of mahi, practice and unwavering determination see the group through regionals and all the way to the biggest stage in Māori performing arts. Produced by Mako Media, Haka Life follows the trials and triumps of Ngā Tūmanako across several years and Te Matatini competitions. The te reo Māori series first aired on Māori Television, before moving to TVNZ.
