Writer David Brechin-Smith felt so inspired by taonga he wrote about at Te Papa Museum, he created a te reo TV show for kids. Brechin-Smith and Te Papa te reo writer Ranea Aperahama picked treasures from the museum's collection for these 18 short tales. Māori hero and trickster Māui (played by Kahukura Royal), narrates the stories, which are interspersed with animated images by Māori artists. The NZ TV award-nominated series covers classic tales like how the kiwi lost its wings, plus modern stories like the bombing of the Rainbow Warrior boat. Click on the 'CC' symbol at the bottom of the screen for English subtitles.
