Heritage Rescue

Small-town Kiwi museums get a high speed make over in this show, which ran for three seasons and 24 episodes. Each week archaeologist/museum specialist Brigid Gallagher and her team visit a different museum or historical collection, offering help and advice. There were visits to Ihumātao, the NZ Warbirds aviation museum, and legendary car yard Smash Palace. The history of each area is also explored. Gallagher previously spent seven years on British archaeological show Time Team. Made by company Top Shelf, Heritage Rescue debuted on private channel Choice TV in August 2016. It also screened on Māori Television.
