Across eight episodes, a team of experts visit provincial museums across Aotearoa and help them revamp. Season one introduces us to archeologist and museum specialist Brigid Gallagher, who takes us to Cromwell and Christchurch in the South Island, and Mokau, Tauwhare, Thames and Kawhia in the North— plus a bach on Rangitoto Island. The museums range from the more generalised (Mokau's eclectic range of exhibits) to the very specific (the military artefacts in Tauwhare). No matter the exhibit, each episode explores the distinct history, community and iwi of each town. Check out the episode guide here.
Every week, my heritage rescue team will tackle one site in need of help. We'll spend five days getting them organised and creating new exhibits.– Presenter Brigid Gallagher introduces the episodes
