Intrepid Journeys - Mexico, Guatemala and Honduras (Anika Moa)

Television (Full Length Episode) – 2009

Singer and TV presenter Anika Moa finds creative inspiration in Central America, stopping in Mexico, Guatemala and Honduras for this episode of Intrepid Journeys. Though death is a big part of traditional life in Mexico, Moa feels alive in the busy and colourful streets. Moa tries her hand at traditional Mexican cooking (which means reluctantly overseeing the culling of a chicken), and takes part in a fertility ceremony with a shaman in Honduras. In Guatemala, Moa joins passionate Easter celebrations and exhibits her love for kids at a school for impoverished youth in Guatemala City.

My mum was scared that I would either a) be forced to be a drug smuggler, or b) get caught in the gang wars.
